In Scotland all 42 professional clubs alongside the Scottish Women's Premier League and the Scottish Cup, will participate in a red card action. This involves players and match officials around the centre circle holding up our red cards prior to kick off. This action will be supplemented by anti-racist public address system announcements, articles in match programmes and club websites. Thanks to the support of The Scottish Government £40,000 worth of grants were made available to organisations to fight racism during the fortnight. This will include events in the Shetland Isles in the North to Dumfries and Galloway in the South. In England we have produced over half a million posters with football clubs showing racism the red card. We are also holding events at York City, Rotherham United, Northampton Town, Doncaster Rovers, Sunderland, Coventry, Luton Town, MK Dons and Bath City around the FoA. In Wales the FoA will kick off at Cardiff City on 18th of October and involve all the teams in the Welsh Premier League taking part. For details of our events in Scotland ring 0141 332 8566 Ged Grebby, Project Coordinator, said "The FARE action week involves anti-racist activities in over 38 countries in Europe and it is great to be part of a genuinely European campaign. We were founding members of FARE in 1997 and the campaign has come a long way in the last 10 years. We hope all the actions will add to a growing movement that says racism is not welcome here!"
