Read other Fortnight of Action 2007 stories 19th October 2007Multi-Cultural event in GovanhillAs part of Show Racism the Red Card's Fortnight of Action, Govanhill Community Development Trust have organised an anti racist and multicultural day for the whole family on Sunday 28th October at the Larkfield Centre, 39 Inglefield Street, Govanhill, Glasgow, G42 7AY between 1-5pm. There will be performances from a diverse range of artists including Bharati Bhundoo, Kim Ho, Gypsy Slavo, Irish Fiddlers, Hallanshankars Ceilidh Band, Purity Ntombela, One-Blood break dancers, Stewart Traquair and an Fashion show by Pan African Arts Scotland. Leading up to the event local primary schools in Govanhill participated in multicultural storytelling, Show Racism the Red Card workshops and designed Eid cards in a competition to win vouchers; these will be announced on the day. There will be a prize raffle and Asian & Mediterranean food be served up. The activity zone will have face painting, arts & crafts. You can also enjoy alternative therapies provided by SEAL community health project and henna painting. Everyone is welcome and it is all free! Source: Govanhill Community Development Trust |
