Celebrating Diversity Together
Show Racism the Red Card is celebrating the 11th year of the anti-racism/anti-sectarianism creative competition. The competition is your opportunity to make a stand against racism and/or sectarianism. 2014 has been a brilliant year for sport and for Scotland. Glasgow hosted the Commonwealth Games which saw elite athletes from all around the world not only competing against one another, but also living together in harmony – united through sport. With this in mind, the theme of this year’s competition is ‘Celebrating Diversity Together’. We would like you to develop a piece of creative work that get across clear messages of anti-racism or anti-sectarianism and celebrates diversity in Scotland’s communities. It could be:
· Short Story
· Creative writing
· Dance/Drama performance
· Research project
· Multimedia presentation
In fact it could be anything that is creative, inspirational and stimulated by an anti-racism or anti-sectarianism message.
Entries are welcome from both individuals and groups. Finalists will be invited to a star-studded awards ceremony at Scotland’s National Stadium, Hampden Park to receive public acclaim for their work and receive superb prizes.
The closing date for entries is Friday 30th January 2015
This is a great opportunity to work with Show Racism the Red Card to show that young people are serious about making Scotland a fair and inclusive society – we hope that you will be part of it.
