Hibernian Score a Goal for Community



Tony Mowbray, the Sikh Community Football Academy and Sir Tom FarmerSir Tom Farmer and Hibernian manager Tony Mowbray teamed up to visit youngsters of a Leith-based Sikh Community Football Academy on Sunday night to build closer ties with the local community.


Located just 10 minutes from Easter Road Stadium at the New Kirkgate Community Centre, the Sikh football centre has offered local aspiring footballers the chance to play football for the past 30 years.


The Hibs manager is on the ball.During the visit, Sir Tom Farmer offered some words of encouragement to the children. Tony Mowbray then passed on some very valuable advice about what it takes to make it as a professional footballer today and achieve their ambitions. He then went onto play in a match with the youngsters.


Tony Mowbray said: "I was delighted to visit the children of the Sikh football academy, it's important that we strengthen our relationship with the local community. There is some real talented kids there and who knows maybe one day they could be pulling on the green and white jersey in the future."
