Hibernian Score a Goal for Community
Sir
Tom Farmer and Hibernian manager Tony Mowbray teamed up to visit youngsters
of a Leith-based Sikh Community Football Academy on Sunday night to build
closer ties with the local community.
Located just 10 minutes from Easter Road Stadium at the New Kirkgate
Community Centre, the Sikh football centre has offered local aspiring
footballers the chance to play football for the past 30 years.
During
the visit, Sir Tom Farmer offered some words of encouragement to the children.
Tony Mowbray then passed on some very valuable advice about what it takes
to make it as a professional footballer today and achieve their ambitions.
He then went onto play in a match with the youngsters.
Tony Mowbray said: "I was delighted to visit the children of the
Sikh football academy, it's important that we strengthen our relationship
with the local community. There is some real talented kids there and who
knows maybe one day they could be pulling on the green and white jersey
in the future."
