North Lanarkshire Secondary Schoolgirl League



Thursday 27th October


North Lanarkshire Council and SRTRC are working in partnership to provide females from the ages of 11-15 the opportunity to play football on a regular basis, it also provides them the chance to develop citizenship and leadership skills.


The programme also includes racial integration by using current role models (international female footballers) to educate the girls through football and various educational resources, such as video and dvd's. The role models will make school visits to all teams involved in the league set-up. There are 13 Secondary schools taking part in the league set-up and play on a monthly basis, the finals will be held in June 2006 in a massive girls'/women's footballing event in North Lanarkshire.
