October 2005 Fortnight of Action - Action ReportsPlayers show racists red cardScottish clubs will unite tomorrow in the fight to stamp our racism. The Show Racism the Red Card campaign organisers have persuaded all 42 clubs in Bank of Scotland Premierleague and Bell's Scottish Football League to highlight their support. Players will hold up red cards before kick-off in all games tomorrow as the battle to remove racism from sport continues. Tannoy announcements and articles in match programmes will also urge fans to get behind the campaign. Scottish Players' Union chief Tony Higgins said: "Our members are delighted to be involved in the red card campaign. "Scotland is now considered to be one of the world leaders in anti-racism in football. Events like this will help to keep it that way." |
