October 2005 Fortnight of Action - Action ReportsRacism gets the boot from pupilsChildren from Glasgow's primary schools joined forces to kick out racism. The pupils took part in the Show Racism the Red Card football coaching sessions at the Kelvin Hall.
St Patrick's, Anderston, Kelvinhaugh, Garnetbank, Willowbank, St Aloysius and the Gaelic Primary schools took part in the event before being awarded medals. Police gave information and advice to pupils about dealing with racism before the football gala. PC Stephanie Rose from Anderston police station said: "Children in this part of the city are fortunate to be growing up in an area which is rich with cultural diversity. "This project aims to encourage kids to appreciate one another and get to know each other better." Source: Glasgow Evening Times
