Queens Park FC show their support for the SRTRC Day of Action
Hampden Park
There was additional interest at Hampden Park on Saturday 16th October for the Scottish Football League’s day of action for the anti-racism campaign Show Racism the Red Card.
Prior to the Queen’s Park v Elgin City game, local youths from Active Life Club and Queen’s Park Youth Development will took part in the Events accompanying the relative First Team Squads.
At Half Time there was a Penalty Kick Shoot Out between both sets of Youth Teams at The National Stadium.
In addition to the extra events Queen’s Park offered low cost entry to the Match for children. There were also free sweets for the kids on a first come first served basis.
Roddy McNulty, Campaign Coordinator for Scotland, Show Racism the Red Card said:
"Queen's Park and Elgin City, clubs at the heart of their local communities, will be joining forces on Saturday 16th October to hammer home the message that racism is not welcome at or around football, or in society. It’s great to see that Queen’s Park are going a stage further offering discounts and freebies around the fixture – we hope that the weekend will be the catalyst for many ongoing anti-racist community projects."
