Scotland United for FARE Action


All Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League fixtures on 22nd/23rd October will feature anti-racist action. Players from all 42 clubs will 'show racism the red card' before kick-off, with tannoy announcements, articles in match programmes and extra events.


Action!175,000 SRTRC squad posters will be distributed featuring Scotland mens and womens teams, and all SPL and SFL 1st division teams. Every school in Scotland will receive a copy of the new SRTRC Scotland video and education pack.


Anti-racist presentations at Hibernian FC, 14th October, Dundee United FC, 19th October, and Heart of Midlothian FC, 24th October.


 

The following projects are being run under the SRTRC Fortnight of Action grants scheme, part-funded by the Scottish Executive's 'One Scotland' campaign:
Portobello High School, Edinburgh - two day anti-racism project in school involving 1450 pupils.
North Edinburgh Community 5-a-side - Multifaith tournament.
Sighthill, Glasgow - All Nations Cup and call for service provision.
Greenock, Glasgow - multimedia pilot project with young people in Youth Justice System, production of anti-racist radio 'jingle' to be played at Greenock Morton FC.
Craigroyston, Edinburgh - anti-racist educational workshops, banner design and football tournament.
Central/West Glasgow - football skills training course/anti-racist educational for P6 & P7 pupils.
Pollokshaws Resettlement & Integration Network, Glasgow - sports coaching programme and multicultural disco.
Falkirk - Multicultural arts and dance festival.
North Glasgow - poster design workshop and printing, 4 north Glasgow schools.
North Lanarkshire - secondary school girls multicultural football league.
Pollokshaws, Glasgow - Eritrean and Scottish music and food festival.
Lincoln flats, Knightswood, Glasgow - multicultural exchange programme with young people from Lincoln, England, Partick Thistle FC and Lincoln City FC.
East Pollokshields, Glasgow - interfaith Iftari Ramadan meal to increase understanding of Islam.
Greendykes Estate, Edinburgh - interschool anti-racist education programme through sport and multicultural lunch.
Grangemouth, Falkirk - youth rock concert 'Rock Against Racism', anti-racist newsletter to 400 'Junior Bairns' (Falkirk FC).
Pilmeny, Leith, Edinburgh - 3 day multicultural football event with anti-racist workshops.
Clovenstone, Edinburgh - multicultural open day promoting inclusion through sport.
Multi Ethnic Aberdeen Limited - Boot Out Racism Calendar 2006, production, design and distribution featuring BME role models selected by local young people.
Pilton, Edinburgh - African drumming and multicultural storytelling workshops and exhibition.
Leith, Edinburgh - anti-racist football tournament for Lothian buses eastern region division 3 & 4 u-13s.
Edinburgh City Youth Café - 'Positively Black' photo exhibition, design and display.
GFT, Glasgow - International Human Rights documentary film festival for refugees and others.
Scottish Human Rights Centre/United for Intercultural Action - production of 5,000 anti-racist postcards for distribution in Glasgow.
Universal FC, Glasgow - free African buffet and live entertainment.
Strathclyde Police Cadets vs Glasgow Ansar - 'The Friendship Match'.
Hearts supporters - anti-racist poster distribution vs Dunfermline, 22 October.
'Honest Men' (Ayr United) Supporters Trust & South Ayrshire Unison - unveiling of SRTRC trackside hoarding, poster distribution and launch of long-term anti-racist educational campaign in South Ayrshire shools.
'Arab Trust', Dundee United Supporters Trust - anti-racist educational presentation for 100 local schoolchildren at Tannadice stadium.
St. Mirren Independent Supporters Association - SRTRC poster distribution.
Gorbals, Glasgow - Refugee drop-in centre 3 week sports event and theatre workshops.
St. Johnstone FC and Perth & Kinross Council - special event at McDiarmid Park.
Hibs FC - Extra Event at Easter Road ! - Half time 10 second challenge with junior members taking part
Trinity High School, Renfrew - school anti-racist seminar.
Drummond Community High, Edinburgh - Equality Day.
Amnesty International, Glasgow West - 5-a-side tournament.
Red Road flats - Scottish African Refugee Community equal opportunites educational project
East Renfrewshire - schools football tournament for East Renfrewshire with anti-racist educational input.
Kilmarnock football in the community - at Stewarton Academy, an anti-racist event involving 200 Ayrshire schoolchildren.
Tema Tribal Art - An African Antiques Exhibition celebrating Black History Month with a delicious blend of African Food and Music.10am-10pm Merchant Square, Glasgow. Free entry.
