07th October 2005Hibs and kids tackle racismSchoolchildren from across Edinburgh are to team up with Hibs to help boot racism out of football later this month. The day-long event is part of the annual Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) which is taking place between October 13 and 27. The Easter Road event, in partnership with Show Racism the Red Card, will take place on October 14 and is aimed at helping youngsters challenge stereotypical attitudes. Hibs boss Tony Mowbray welcomed the initiative saying: "It's important that children are made aware of the anti-racism message as early as possible. "The event to be staged at Easter Road is a fantastic way to get across the message to young football supporters that racism has no part to play in sport or in any other matter." Tickets for the second derby of the season, to be played at Easter Road on Saturday, October 29, went on sale to Hibs fans today. Prices for the West Stand and Famous Five Stand (upper) are £25 (adults) and £10 (concessions) and for the Famous Five Stand (lower) and East Stand £22 and £10. Hibs' next home match, against Kilmarnock, a week tomorrow has been picked as the first Hibs Kids Day of the season. Members of Hibs Kids will get into the game free but can bring a friend or adult for the reduced price of £5 and £15 respectively. Tickets must be bought by the Thursday prior to the match.
