Aberdeen players unite to combat racism

Dons stars Barry Nicholson, Jamie Smith and Jamie Langfield have thrown their weight behind a drive to stamp out racism in Scottish football and society.

The Aberdeen trio were also joined by Dundee United defender Stuart Duff at a special new Show Racism the Red Card video which was screened at Pittodrie earlier this week.

North-east children also attended the screening of the video which features Aberdeen defenders Michael Hart and Richie Byrne, Celtic's John Hartson and several other leading SPL star.

Scotland boss Walter Smith also appears in a united effort to highlight why there is no room for racism in sport.

Smith said: "Travelling with Scotland you see the welcome our fans receive worldwide.

"The least we can do is show respect to the diverse cultures that make up this country.

"People should be judged on who they are, not what colour they are."
