Cultural Celebration night for Black History Month and SRTRC Fortnight of Action


Cultural Celebration Night Saturday 14th of October 2006, between 7pm - 12am, at Maryhill Community Central Halls, 304 Maryhill Road.


Brief background of Afro-Scots United FC


Afro-Scots United has been running for 3 years. We currently have members from Africa (Ghana, Ivory Cost, Malawi, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, etc), the Caribbean, Scotland and many other countries.


Cultural Celebration NightOur vision is to improve the overall well-being of our community by encouraging social inclusion and an appreciation of many diverse cultures in Scotland. We aim to promote integration of people from different backgrounds through sport and cultural events.


Upcoming cultural event


The event is part of Show Racism The Red Card's Fortnight of Action and will be a celebration of the many different cultures in Glasgow and will therefore include: a range of dances and musical sounds (African, Reggae, Salsa, RnB and a Scottish ceilidh); African, Caribbean as well as traditional Scottish cuisines; designers showcasing African fashion alongside Scottish and Urban wear; key speeches from distinguished figures in the community; and some SPL players as special guests.
