Show Racism the Red Card is pleased to announce that it has opened a brand new office based in Bedford.
Ex-professional footballers will be working with the campaign to deliver a programme of anti-racism education alongside fun football fitness sessions to young people in schools throughout South East England:
Luther Blissett – Former England international, AC Milan and Watford striker.
Paul Mortimer – Former England Under 21, Charlton and Aston Villa midfielder.
Leroy Rosenior – Former Sierra Leone international, West Ham United and Fulham striker.
Ged Grebby, Chief Executive of Show Racism the Red Card stated: “I am delighted that Luther Blissett and Paul Mortimer have joined the campaign to help us to deliver this vital work to young people in the region. They are great role models for young people and their support is really powerful in increasing the young people’s enthusiasm and engagement with the issue.”
Leroy Rosenior, who has been working with the organisation for the last two years said “The work that we deliver in schools has, in my view, not only a profound affect upon the young people it is aimed at, but also on the teachers, educators and youth workers who look after them. I am very proud that we are able to bring this work to young people in places such as Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, where we have not previously had an opportunity to work.”
